The present practice was purpose built and was opened on 4th March 2002 by local business man, Mr Dave Whelan. Our practice population of over 9000 patients is spread over a large and diverse area.
We are a training practice for Foundation Year Two (FY2) Drs, FY2 Drs are with the practice for 4 months at a time, and will have had some experience in hospital medicine, and may or may not be planning a career in General Practice.

If you are not registered for on line services please call in to the surgery and pick up an application form or alternatively you can download the form which needs to be brought to surgery with your photo ID. Please note we need to see photo ID to process your registration
NEED TO SEE A GP IN THE EVENINGS OR AT WEEKENDS?
Wigan Borough GPs have come together to provide extended access to a GP in 'hubs' across the borough.
You can book an appointment, weekdays 6:30pm to 8:00pm and Weekends 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Currently there are seven hubs now across the Wigan Borough operating the GP Extended Access: Pemberton Surgery, Shevington Surgery, Ashton Medical Centre, Kidglove Golbourne, Pennygate Hindley, Bridgewater Leigh and Tyldsley.

What to do if the surgery is closed
If the surgery is closed and you think you need health advice that you feel cannot wait until the surgery reopens please do one of the following.
Ring NHS 111 – this service will offer advice and if necessary direct you to the appropriate Out of Hours Provider, Walk In Centre, Hospital or Pharmacy.
If it is a Wednesday between 1.00 pm and 6.30 pm then please call the Out of Hours Service on 01942 829911.
Patient Online Services - patient access to their GP record
The practice now offers patient access to GP records, the facility for patients to view online, export or print information relating to medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any other item agreed between you and your GP.

GP Choice - Out Of Area Registrations
As from 5th January GP practices will have the option to register patients who live outside the practice area without any obligation to provide home visits. This was discussed at a recent practice meeting and it has been decided that BRADSHAW MEDICAL CENTRE will not be accepting any patients who live outside of our practice boundary.
